Well if you visit, for instance, EBAY you will see that the only ones that are been sold at $2000 + are the coins that are already GRADED 70. Paper does matter! HAHAHAH!!! I bought 5 and will probably return 3 of them. IMHO if the USMINT keep on selling them, without a "stop#, and as long as public keeps the demand those coins will loose a lot, a lot, of their "collector's value/appeal/incentive." Just like a belly- -button, everybody will have one...
Yes, he can return 3 of the 5. You can't return the nickel and dime out of a proof set though. That's what they call a partial return. 1-800-872-6468
You mean, the same way they were supposed to start shipping on the 5th, and then last Friday, and then today? My level of frustration is still low, but increasing a bit.
I called them earlier and they told me orders start going out tomorrow. how many go out tomorrow ? I have no clue.
Like the gold HOF, I was one of the first to order these, but will probably wait months for my order to ship.
I called and the same thing, takes six days to clear since it was only my 2nd order with the mint. I expect it on the 18th now.
How? I ordered my Gold Kennedy at 12:04. If you have an account, then maybe she was blowing smoke but she said on Gold they wait 6 business days..
If they are going to wait 6 days, they shouldn't announce that they are ready to ship on opening day. A very poor business practice, indeed. All other on line merchants offering same day shipping actually ship the same day. I expect no less from the mint.
HAHAHAHA!! OK!! I called this morning and was told that I could not cancel the order, it was already under process status. I was advice that I have 7 days to return, 3 out of 5, if I wanted to and that I had a 7 days time frame to do so... Maybe I will return all 5 of them. As a favor to whoever wants to buy one or more coins of the 5 coins in the shipment I will be glad to sell it to you at the same price of USMINT. NO GAIN, just you pay the shipping. And of course, cash, certified check or money order only. I will give access to the tracking # that USMINT will e-mail me as soon as I receive it. This way you can see when it arrives. The only additional charge would be that you pay for the shipping to your address; USP or USPS. This will be in order to help you guys that wantred more coins and did not had the opportunity to get them. The selling price will be $1,240.00 you can pay with PAYPAL but the % they charge me will be covered by you as an additionsal fee to the selling price. Please let me know for I only have one week to return them after receiving them.
Perhaps they're waiting until the Early Release slabbing deadline passes. You know, to protect the investment of all those individual hobbyists who waited in line at the show and the retail outlets.
Perhaps, but for sure not a good practice. Starting by giving "special treatment" to those lucky enough living where the sales were taking effect and so did the the grading companies. No integrity! Imagine, the first coin that was graded 70 was re-sold, in a matter of minutes or hours, for a whopper sum of $20,000.00; Numero #1. IMHO that was a calculated "move" that had been was planned ahead of time by the MINT and probably the Grading Companies. The $20,000.00 coin was re-sold way before the regular JOE could get the correct status on the order he had just placed on the USMINT www page. The price of $20,000.00 was to make the rest of the collectors, speculators, and investors "go" for the coin. To create a big appeal for the coin, but the reality is that the MINT keeps selling the coins in an unlimited quanty creating for the coin a very poor "offer and demand" situation. Meanwhile the grading companies keep gaining with every coin sent to them for grading. Win Win situation. After all that $20,000.00 did not came out of either one of them pockets! And see if whoever bought it at that astronomical price if he can sell it today for a mere $15,000.00 Perhaps in 50 years the coin will be worth above the "melt" value. But not today. I am talking of this particular coin/incident. As far as I know this is the first time ever that something like this happens. First selling 2 coins, then only 1... selling until every coin demand is satisfied... Not selling any more coins person/person for security reasons??? "No mas" for me! Returning all 5 coins and cancelling the 5 ($9.95)sets as well. DISAPPOINTED 150% !!! Nothing personal, just business. Good luck all you guys and hope that all your Kennedy gold coins come out to be graded PF-70 because if they come out to be below PF70 they will definitively have no value whatsoever for collecting purpose, speculating/selling purpose, investment purpose, or whatever purpose might be.
