i would say 800-1000 on the 500 dollar notes, 1500-1800 on the 1000 dollar notes and the PMG dollar would bring 15-20 !! These prices are just a range they could sell for more or less. If there are any ripes or other damage on the un graded notes that would reduce the value more !!
Common (in relative terms) series and district for the $500 and $1000 FRNs. That being said, the second $500 (the one without the partial teller stamp) looks to be a nice note, XF perhaps. The thousands look pretty clean too. $850-900 on the inked $500 $1250 on the uninked $500 ~$2000 on each $1000. The SC is perhaps worth $12.
The $500's look a little better than XF, though it's hard to tell from photos alone. I would say the inked $500 is probably ~$900 and the clean one at $1200 to $1500 depending on the grade. I agree with harris498's valuation of the $1000s. $2k a piece is about right. I'm curious about the Light Green Seal $1000's peeking out from behind the 35G silver. They carry a higher premium than the Dark Green Seal varieties. And if they happen to be 1928 series Light Green Seals, you'll be rolling in money. Most Light Green Seals were printed for the 1934 series, but a few survivors from 1928 still exist. They are rare.
All the notes are 1934. I have 6 $1000 notes and 11 $500 notes. But I only took pictures of the notes in the best shape. I didn't know there only a few exist of the 1928 series though. Thanks for the info!
Did you get these from a bank robber or something? I've only ever seen about 15 of each and I owned 4 $1000 and 3 $500.
There are plenty of 1928 $500s and $1000s out there. However, they are nearly all the dark green seal or transitional seal variety. As the 1928 series drew to a close, seal colors became lighter and lighter. Very late 1928 printings and early 1934 printings possess a light green seal. The notes below are not inclusive of all seal color varieties. There are many more transitional colors. These are just the photos I could quickly find.
