Agreed. Not how I would spend the money...but some people have more money than sense.

Hey, there may still be time to get The First CAC Sticker Issued for 2014 Kennedy Gold Commemorative! Maybe they'll issue a special gold-AND-green bean for it...

Given the behavior we've been seeing around these coins, I'm imagining a different botanical scent. One that would more likely be found at a Colorado convention.

That's something I'll never understand , you can bet that wasn't the 1st one minted . I might understand someone wanting the 1st coin minted , if the mint took the 1st coin off the presses and specially handled it so they knew for a fact it was indeed the 1st one struck . But like someone said , how do they know that was the 1st one sold as they started in how many different places . Crazy !!!!!

Note the label also says it is from the ANA in Chicago. So taken as a whole the label is in effect saying "first coin sold at the ANA in Chicago". Doesn't matter whether or note one might have sold a few moments earlier eleswhere.

    Doesn't NGC have a version?

personally i would have thought the 50th coin sold for a 50th anniversary event would be more to me than the first sold - but that's just me. they could invent the "gold label" for the 50th coin sold to go with the gold coin :)

I don't understand why NGC didn't do something with these. Someone had to be the first in line at th Pa. Mint. They just going to let a PCGS slab get all the Kodac moments?

I guess the opposite could have been said if the buyer of the 1st 4 coins took them to NGC , but they chose PCGS . Still paying for a sticker is a little silly in my book . But to each their own I guess .

This whole episode seems strange to me. Considering how manical people are about first this and first that, you'd think they both would have had people at all the retail centers and Chicago show offering to slab the first one sold at an outlet for free, just so they could have their name on it.

Yea an overpriced $1250 coin with a $98,750 label. I need to start collecting labels here all this time I was collecting coins.
