You can open an eBay Store pretty easily, I think. A monthly subscription requires $500 in sales for you to break even; I think an annual membership drops to $15.99/mo, or $400/mo break-even. If you're planning to sell even one Kennedy, you might as well buy a store subscription. Top-seller discounts and cheaper PayPal tiers depend partly on volume and performance over time. If you haven't already ramped up to those rates, you won't be able to do so in time to profit from the early rush on Kennedys.
NCG calls it a "Pedigree" and "ANA Inaugural Releases" (http://www.coinworld.com/news/NGC-announces-kennedy.html). I supposed "Inaugural Releases" is even better and more valuable than "Early Releases". They call it "Releases" because several years ago they had their pants sued off for calling them "first strikes". I wish the coin-collecting community would boycott these made-up categories so the grading services would knock it off already.
I just spoke with US Mint representative and coins will begin shipping Friday and early next week due to the standard hold process on orders that exceed $250.
Then the should have used that as an estimated ship date and not Aug 5. It's no wonder everyone hates the mint.
The US Mint posted on Facebook today they have raw materials to mint 75,000 of these and are working to obtain additional materials to mint to demand....
I was one of the first to order. When my order posted, the website and my confirmation page stated that it would ship on 8/5. It still hasn't shipped. It's still processing and still has a cancel box. There is no indication of the charge on my card, either. What gives? Are they taking care of the max orders first then going back to fulfill the orders for one coin? The mint says it adheres to a FIFO policy, but IMO, that's a truckload of cow pies.
Rick, you'd think by now they could have got it right. The Mint ordering process is like the movie Groundhog Day. They'll do the same thing with the 4 piece set. They'll do it next year and the next year cause they have to take care of their favorite buyers first.
Took this capture less than a minute ago. The nicest thing I can think of calling them here: IDIOTS! Product will be available for shipping 08/05/2014
This just in....someone wanted that special label really bad. The first Gold Kennedy sold in Chicago has been resold - for $100,000. http://www.coinworld.com/news/first...llar-sold-at-ana-show-resells-for-100000.html "...the collector to whom the Yadgarov coin was sold is a longtime customer who purchases coins over the Coin Vault cable television show, which SilverTowne owns." And that tells you everything you need to know. Anyone dumb enough to buy off Coin Vault regularly would fit the label collecting type....
