Coin tubes for Presidential dollars

I am looking for tubes in which to store the bank and mint-wrapped rolls of Presidential dollars. Some tubes hold only 20 coins, so they couldn't hold an entire roll. Coinsafe makes square tubes that hold 25 coins, but I was told they won't accomodate the wrapper.

Does anyone know of tubes that will hold a wrapped roll of 25 presidential dollars?

I haven't seen tubes that will hold wrapped rolls at any of the major coin supply houses I use. For unwrapped coins they have tubes for the small dollars that hold 25 coins.

Just curious, but what advantage do you see to putting paper wrapped rolls in tubes rather than just storing them in boxes with some silica gel?

Just better protection from humidity and perhaps more protection against damage from being dropped.

Silica gel requires periodic maintenance. These rolls could be sitting around for a long time.

At the Long Beach Show today I saw some strong cardboard boxes with honeycomb inserts sized to hold rolls of various size coins. Nothing was priced in that booth and I didn't hang around long enough to get a price from the guy running it.

i use empty medicen bottles to hold wrapped coins to keep them from rubbing such as the wv quarters that were signed by the designer.

There are hollow clear plastic tubes of various sizes that you cut yourself and put end caps on. The tubes are 18" long and caps are sold separate. These would be great to view edge mint mark/date. Sometime today I'll check to see how a dollar coin fits and I'll get part numbers. I buy them from Brownell's, thanks, Douglas

I contacted a dealer (Amos advantage, not air-tites.com) about the 25-coin Coinsafe tubes (the ones advertised on the Brent-Krueger site). I was told that they will not accomodate the wrapper.

Do you have a specific brand and part number that you know works?

Sometimes you have to go with the real thing instead of the bargain-price knockoff. ;)

I tried this and and it works perfectly: Place the roll into a poly bag and then roll it up. Then place the roll inside a coin tube made for Morgan Dollars (or Peace or Ike).

They fit perfectly and don't move around. These holders are available from www.air-tites.com

I've contacted the air-tites.com web site asking explicitly whether their 25-coin tubes will accomodate wrapped rolls. When I get an answer, I'll share it with the forum.

My prior post was a direct copy and paste from their website. Just click on the link in that post and read it for yourself.

I do the same ( Med Bottles) I have some that have kept real nice for the last 10 years the coins look better then some of the pro coin tubes.Maybe its the dark color tube that helps.
The only thing is I think the Paper will still hurt the coins

These won't work, they're just a little too small. These are called 1", maybe the company that makes them has 1-1/8" or 1-1/4", I'll try to check. Thanks, Douglas
