Well we tried our unused visa that we had to activate and same problem .I do not understand this one. Been using the same discover card on usmint for several years . You know their phone line is not obtainable. as its busy. So we was one of the 1st online and well wasted 50 minutes
I bet they would turn down cash as well

Well we went back and checked the order history and now all 5 showed up as ready to ship 8/5 so we made it and their system was just slow at getting it right

 

My email confirmation just says "Backordered". I think the "suspended" status doesn't mean anything. I was going to check online, but the waiting time is now 2 hours and 25 minutes!!!!

 

Huh. Just tried to reload my order status page, and got bumped to the "high volume, want to go to the waiting room?" landing page.

...and just got a phone call on my home number, asking for me by name, which is a bit unusual. I figured it was probably the CC company calling to verify the transaction (which is well outside my normal daily charging habits!). The call dropped (from their end, presumably, since mine's a plain old land-line), and they haven't called back. A bit frustrating, as I need to head back to the office in a few minutes.

 

I wonder if eBay has lit up with them yet?

 

There were already completed preorders this morning, but all were "or Best Offer", and I haven't had time to track down the actual prices.

 

Oh yeah. Ebay has them. $1750 for "pre-order". $3387 for a PF-70 from the ANA convention (you know, the ones that are exactly like the ones ordered online, but have a special piece of paper with them).

 

A friend of mine just got his 5. I'm not so sure about getting them myself. I reckon it is just a hype coin that will be scrap metal in a year. Then again a lot of people worship kennedy. Any thoughts about the long term value of this gold kennedy?

 

The big run will come right off of the bat... They will then slide back from the highs... But will probably settle above issue prices.

Looks like they already went past what they had ready to ship. That was fast...

 

I think I read somewhere that the mint had 40,000 ready to go today.

 

Why do you all put up with this stupidity? The US Mint is obnoxious at best...

 

Well if they sold that 40,000 already... Which the ship date changing in that last order seems to indicate... They only sold 222 pieces a minute over the last 3 hours...

 

Don't forget, they are selling 1,000 at the ANA show and an unknown quantity at two mints.

 

And if they sold that 40,000 pieces... They brought in $49.6 million in just under 3 hours.

$620,000 in sales at the show as well from the 500 pieces this morning.

 

Last quoted order number above shows 18,000+orders at 2:30 on the Mint's site...
