I bought my roll of Washington dollars and put 10 into 2x2s. My wife helps at the local VFW BINGO hall on Thursdays and asked if she could take a few to show the people there. She took 10 coins with her. She just got home and said she sold all 10 in no time (for $1 each). Most of the people there didn't even know they were being minted. She said she probably could have got rid of 1 or 2 rolls if she had them. A nice bonus is an older couple asked her if I would be interested in buying some old coins, so we are going to their house next Thursday to take a look at what they have. She said he mentioned indian and wheat cents, but she couldn't remember what else he said he had. Maybe I'll find something good.
Fropa: Good luck with that buying trip. Nice of you to give out (face value is nearly giving them away) those dollars, they'll probably stay in those flips for years.
I checked at both of my banks today, and the shipments are coming next for the new dollars, they said that the feds want them to put them into circ. so maybe the bingos will realize that they will be just a normal coin after the new wears off. John
