Walking around the PNG show today saw quite a few of these fliers laying around. Wonder what they will pay this time. It would have to be a lot more than $200 dealers were paying last year.
I got a spammed email from a dealer I've bought from on ebay telling me I'd get a $250 profit when I bought all 5 with my credit card, and sent the original mint shipping box to him unopened. Um...no thanks.
It's like the dealers are blantantly telling you, "hey sell it to me for less than you can sell it to someone else for!" Yea, um, no thanks.
Get them graded and get the chicago label on them. Sadly enough, some people collect the label and not the coin.
If you're just looking for a real quick turn around...there is profit to be made. It's not a maximum profit, but there is value to getting paid quick and there is no risk. I think it's very interesting how people look at these type of ads as a scam. Yes, you will get less money this way...but it's fast and easy. That's the trade off.
It can be mutually beneficial. I understand. I don't knock on the dealers for doing what they do. My comment had a dose of facetiousness in it. At the same time, dealers can be like used car salesman though. Not the majority I have dealt with however.
This is for the ones bought online though, not show coins. I honestly do not know if you will be able to profit more than $50 per coin if you sold them yourself on ebay. The fees will kill you. Only possible way to make more is getting them graded yourself, and hoping for 70 and early release holders. Even then, the fees will be so high I don't know if you can make more than $50 per coin. I am on the fence about buying 5... might try the guarantee $250 profit, might try keeping them.
Well, assuming I can get two gold for each day I am there I will get the NGC labels on them. I figure the worse I can do is break even at the end.
Very true. Fees stink. However fee-free avenues for selling have a different type of risk. Meeting up with someone from Craigslist in person (or other free listing site) may be asking for trouble. Unfortunately, paying eBay fees is probably the best way to go right now. Everyone has different objectives. If it's worth it to you to sell for a quick and safe profit, even at the risk of passing up more potential profit, then do it. There's a saying... sometimes a quick nickel is better than a slow dime.
Well mostly saw it as a scam/spam as I would have what....$1250x5 sitting on my credit card, and would have to wait I don't know, lets say 5 weeks to get paid back...are they going to cover my credit card interest too? I get paid back by check when they get the coins? That is a long time for me to be sitting on approximately $6k in credit card debt...$250 isn't enough profit to make that wait worth it to me Adding flyer link... http://eepurl.com/Z5plD
