Stopped by a BofA I have never been to this afternoon on the way to pick up some organic fruit from the hippy store. I asked for a box of dimes and cents and then asked if they had any halves. The girl had $110 and the guy next to her had $380. I didn't have enough to get all of it but I picked up $300 worth. They were elated to be getting rid of them. Every roll was marked with a date and mm and sure enough that's what was in them. All except one...it was a different type of wrapper and wasn't marked. Inside?

5-64's including a gold one - looks toned not plated
    12-40%
    an 87D
and a couple of random clads. You bet I will be going back in the morning to pick up the rest.

As I was leaving the girl told me that another teller who is opening tomorrow has about $600 worth too. Fingers crossed!

Went back and cleared the bank out of all their halves. $820 worth of CWR gave me a 73s proof, a few NIFCs, and zero silver. :( Meh, I'll take what I can get though.

Dumped the leftover halves at my pick-up bank today specifically because they let me buy bags from their machine. It only took $40 to fill the bag so I bought it off them. Glad I did :)

    2 Walkers (41d, 43)
    5 Kens (64x4, 64d)
    17 40%(66x3, 67x3, 68dx5, 69dx3)

A nice little 5oz to add to the pile :)

The past month has been one long cols streak for my CRH efforts... until today.

I picked up 20 rolls each of CWR dimes and nickels. I got skunked on the dimes and thought I was going to get skunked on nickels until I hit rolls 16,17, and 18... Here's what they had:

    Roll #16: 1939, 1940 (3), 1940-D, 1941 (4), 1941-D (2), 1942 (2), 1942-D, 1943-P (10), 1944-P (5), 1944-D, 1945-P, 1947, 1949, 1949-D, 52-D, 54, 55, 59, 59-D

    Roll #17: 38 (2), 39 (2), 40, 41 (3), 43-P (11), 44-P (7), 44-D, 45-P (6), 45-S, 48-D, 54, 54-D, 55-D

    Roll #18: 38 (9), 40, 41, 41-D, 42-P, 43-P (9), 44-P (5), 45-P (4), 46, 48, 52, 58-D

That's 61 war nickels from 3 rolls. I guess someone got $6.00 cash for grandpa's collection.

In last 15 boxes of Loomis halves---ONE 40%.
More depressingly that is one out of 15000 coins.
Or, even worse, .1479 ounce of silver out of about 170100 grams of coins(15000 x 11.34g/coin)
There must be an easier way to make $2.46 (silver at $20.02/ounce minus the cost of the coin).

2 Boxes of halves (that a poor befuddled bank took 3 weeks to deliver) - Skunk and skunk.

I just imagine that every half dollar I get is worth at least $20K.

Nice finds, especially the V. I found a 1912 V at work several months before I found any buffalos or war nickels.

Last week I got to work and there were 9 halves in the drawer, mostly from the early '70s but there was one 1967 that I spotted right away.
