Good !! That will hopefully put an end to the selling of them on ebay for more money than they are worth to people who think there is a difference between mint wrapped rolls and bank wrapped rolls.
as you can see in my pics the the 4 rolls I got today from PNC Bank had George washington on them also said N.F> string & Son Inc Harrisburg Pa I never saw that on a reg bank roll before
I couldn't make it out in your pics - I tried. But ND did say in another thread that they are also shipping bags. So yes, there are bank wrapped rolls as well. Now we'll have even more people being taken advantage of
You keep referring to people being taken advantage of on ebay in regard to these rolls. I don't see the concern. Check out the auctions for any of the state quarter rolls, and you always see a difference in value between the mint rolls and bank rolls. I would bet that the bank rolls will carry a premium close to what the mint charges. Some people just don't want to take the time to ask at the bank, or they need a mintmark that's not available in their area. If we want to talk about taking advantage, let's talk about the surcharge we are asked to fork out for their specially wrapped rolls.
I need clear direction, if I understand correctly, banks can order Prez dollar rolls with $1000 minimum. If that's the case, not too many banks will be ordering rolls every three months. Someone said why order rolls from the mint for $35 per roll when you can get rolls from your bank for $25; well if you want rolls of each mint mark and each Prez I guess you'll have to pay the premium. I don't think you'll be successful getting them from your local bank. Thank, Douglas
Nope---I doubt I'll pick up many of these things. That is just what I got too---too bad the mint didn't keep their word for shipping them all out in their wrappers. Speedy
I just got back from the MINTS kick off at Grand Central Terminal....I got my pic taken with the Director of the Mint...he even gave me a free new Washington Dollar coin. I got a few rolls of the coins and some loose ones so I don't have to break open any of the rolls I got. I was only disappointed that the coins the Mint was exchanging today were NOT in the USMINT rolls....they were just like the ones pictured in this thread.
i just picked up a roll from the bank it is marked 25$ george washington there is nothing on the roll about mint mark the box that mine came out of had nothing about mint mark either , mine was the first roll from this bank . they didnt even know any thing about this coin or the rest of the series . it looks like to me that the mint didnt educate the banks about these coins. Good editorial in today's Chicago Tribune; metric system, professional soccer, electric cars and $1 coins, 'bout says it all. Thanks, Douglas
Just think---here in awhile you will have the rare coin with Mint Directors Moy's finger-print on it LOL Speedy
