I have a Stacks contact. He is handling about 8 coins for me in the summer ANA auction. I'm going to take my time with this one, though. It deserves a better grade IMO.

I can't tell the grade at all from the images, but it likely isn't original skinned.

Yeah, if I had a coin like this, I would definitely take my time selling it :) I'd keep it for many years. Great coin, and amazing deal. It looks to be at least a PR65, which is worth many thousands more than what you paid.

Nice coin. Tough to say much about the grade from the images.

Well.....if you can sell one coin for 2 or 3 times what you paid for the whole lot? Myself, I take the money in hand and go shopping again.

As said hard to tell from the the pics but if I had to guess it would be because of the reverse fields. The toning there looks to be such that the mirror effect is gone, and that would hold the grade down. If indeed the pics are accurate in that regard.

TrueView_11798527_ExtraLarge.jpg Well, the grade hasn't been uploaded yet but here are the truviews I ordered. It regraded PR64+CAM. The new cert number should be in their system tomorrow....

I learned a lot from this coin. Number one being that proofs are graded MUCH differently than MS coins. If this were a business issue, it would get a 67 or 68. But it's a proof... no contact with other coins, certainly less chance of being "handled." There are no hits on this coin; just breaks in the mirrors. What appears to be scratches on the reverse above the eagle are toning anomalies which break up the liquid fields. It seems that they were severe enough to limit the grade to a 64/64+.

Only 2 graded 64+CAM. I think you did very well. IMO the eye appeal is fantastic.

Really nice coin. Even though it only went to Plus, it is still an "upgrade" nonetheless.

How does the color of the coin in hand compare to the Tru View? It's a beautiful coin and I'd be proud to own it as well.

Yes that was pretty much it. $1, 8 cents "proofing" charge, and about 15 cents for postage.

How many times you have to "wait" to see what PCGS says? They already saw it once and slabbed it at PR64. You mean, you can't wait to see if PCGS changes their minds and the exact same coin magically becomes worth more because of a label. Check ... understood. ;)

Sorry double post. My internet is flaky at the moment.
