As many of you who know me knew that I once had a significant Small Size FRN New York Collection. After being diagnosed 3 yrs ago with an illness I was forced to sell 95% of the Collection consisting of 28 Large Size Notes and the majority of the NY Collection including many scarce star Notes for the Series 1928 and 1934. What a devastating thing that was as I watched the Rep from Heritage leave my home with my collection in hand. This is the first Small Size Note I have purchased in 3 yrs and is one grade below what I wanted...well at this stage I will be lucky to even make it half way back as it took years for me to find specific notes that now cost more than when I first obtained them... Enjoy the image of this $5 Note as I start to rebuild the $5 New York Collection. RickieB
Nice to have you back collecting Rickie. I have never got into currency much, but have always enjoyed learning while reading your posts sir.
Thank you guy's.. I thought about the journey..Urbanchemist..we both took that path several years ago...I may be more selective and not try to assemble the entire NY Small Size Series including block numbers as I had before..that was simply a huge task! I will start with the $5's and see what happens from that point. Thanks again for all the kind replies. Best regards to all.. RickieB
Ya know Rick? We love ya. I remember you from my earliest days on this forum when you was collecting platinum. Fodder for the 'note' collection. Love it when a collector finds direction. I've found mine.......just need the money....... No big deal though. I'm having a devil of a time collecting what I like. Fun times too. All the best to you Rick. You've been a mentor to me in way that you can not imagine. God Bless you.......
Green18..My Brother, you too have brightened days for me when I was feeling down and gloomy! Your Commem's are wonderful and you have no doubt inspired many collections over the years! It is a pleasure to have shared this Forum with you over the years.. All the best in Life to you, Friend! For what's it worth..I have started to assemble some AGE and ASE. Perhaps a few APE's in the future if I can keep off the the Paper Train..lol RickieB
Seeing you back at it again is the best news I have received in quite a long time! Glad you're recovering your health as well as your collection, Rickie!
It's good to hear your health has improved and you are collecting again Rickie. It's even better to see you collecting something other than what I collect.
Steve..thanks ..I am always on the look out for your #12's Of course I would inform you of such finds. All the best to you. RickieB
