I've been wanting an Indian-pattern gold coin for a while and decided to buy this $5 coin to have an example. I really love the design (I guess people tend to love 'em or hate 'em). I was able to get this one for just a little over melt. Should I get it graded? : ) Joking, of course. Seems to me to be in fairly good shape from a wear standpoint, but cleaned and probably formerly in a jewelry holder of some type (I'd love to think that the rim issue is a striking error, but I'm pretty sure it is just PMD). Anyway...any and all comments are welcome.

Nothing wrong in an old jewelry piece , especially in nice shape like this one . Nice pick up .

nice pick up. I happen to love this design. I have a couple in AU58 and low MS.

Yours certainly looks polished and, while I'm no expert, appears to have been in some type of holder and used in jewelry.

There's still no reason to not be pleased with your addition. Well done.

I just love gold! that's a nice coin for the price. I don't have any of those yet but have a couple of $10 Indians. I should get the others just to have them all.
