I agree with the grade on the seated half tho it could've been 53 the quarter is beautiful but questionsble as ma I see hairline in the reverse of the v nickel. The 2 cent I see absolutely no problems as with the Kennedy the shield looks ok to me too
From your pictures of the 1964-D Kennedy, I really can’t see anything that keeps it out of a PCGS MS67 holder. Try sending that puppy in again. The only thing I would do different – would pick up a few more modern Kennedys to be graded. I know PCGS says the cut off point for Modern versus Economy is 1965 but in my experience if you have 4 or 5 modern Kennedys on the submission form and you throw one 1964 dated coin in, PCGS will grade them all on the Modern tier. Earlier this spring, my dad found a 1964 DDO-015 and a 1964-D DDO-010 in a “junk silver” box a local B&M shop that we visit on a regular bases. We throw them both on a Modern submission at PCGS and they were graded each at the $16 level. https://www.pcgs.com/Membership/order.html?OrderNo=20792304&Year=2014 I do believe that the younger graders or graders just starting out do the “Modern” submission while the senior graders do the higher value tiers (just a thought).
I've talked to others too who have better luck running stuff at economy and declaring the value low you just can't insure it for as much
The SLQ definitely looks heat treated. I would bet money on it. In response to: I write to grade the coins after lunch on Friday.
If I were you, I wouldn't keep a measly MS-66 FS as my avatar. I think the Kennedy Half surprised me the most.
1864 2 cents Damaged? I can't see not 1 thing to make that call. Pcgs grader must been blind or just didn't want to work Greg.
The only thing I see on the 2c is the cud that was mentioned and the denticles between the F in Of and the M in America.
I just want a honest grading without a added fee. Pcgs is the top service but do have stock holders they must answer to each quarter . I know this shouldn't affect grading but everything rolls down hill. C.A.C rechecking everything today they are under the loop so to say.
I think these were bad calls all across the board. From my personal experience, I have had much better luck with toned coins and NGC. I know that most people extoll PCGS as being the pinnacle of TPGs, but I've honestly had much better experiences with NGC. I don't see the ones bagged as questionable as being AT. Just one person's opinion. I no longer submit to PCGS for that reason.
That's the grade I was expecting. This was the first time I submitted with my own membership, so I'm still learning. I used their online form submission. Is it even possible to do this using the online submission builder? Also, would it be more beneficial if I submitted them through a dealer? Is there a difference between a dealer account and my account? Would the grader even know?
