Bravo Steve. A classic type and one I have had my eye on for a while though have been unable to bring myself to purchase as I am trying (and somehow failing) to save for a larger purchase.
My criteria would be met in this coin with a well detailed horse in fine style.

    What's not to like?

Beautiful new addition, Steve, and great coins everyone. I don't collect by designs, but I did pick up this Valerian provincial just because pastoral themes are seemingly rare.

    Valerian I of Alexandreia Troas
    AE20; Alexandreia Troas
Obv.: IMP LIC VARERIANVS AV; laureate, draped, cuirassed bust r.
Rev.: COL AVG; grazing horse r. // TROA
Reference: SNG von Aulock 7573 var (ending of both legends)

I like it Steve! Who doesn't enjoy partaking in a little of the fruit of the vine? Well, I know I do:joyful:.

As far as horses go, here is a fine rendering of a couple of proud Roman stallions on the reverse of this Roman Republic coin.
