I think I'll call that AU58-1/2. If it sneaks in, give it MS63. How's that for nailing it down?

Some of those Randall Hoard coins are amazing. MS 65?

hmmmm... This is an interesting coin. It may just be the photograph... but i'm not necessarily in love with the color. It's hard to tell if the discoloration on the cheek and the hair above the ear is just discoloration or luster breaks... AU63 is my guess... lol

TPG would put it 62/63 with what they probably consider cabinet rub - but I think a choice AU-58.

That means he thinks it is AU, but I really nice choice AU. Some use AU64 and/or AU63 for really choice AU coins. Of course I could be wrong, but that is how I have heard the term used.

I think it's because there seems to be a really fine line/inconsistency between AU-58 and MS-61/62/63 coins. AU coins may have the slightest bit of circulation wear but often have nice fields/surfaces, whereas the low-MS coins are uncirculated but sometimes have a lot of contact marks that makes them unappealing.

Stunning copper, love it. I'd call it an MS63.

Yep... You guys got it... It's one of those coins that looks that it might be AU but is really screaming!!

Weak strike or wear in the hair above the eyebrow, above the "ER" in Liberty and on the bun. Some rim dings on reverse. Very nice coin.

Savy, I see what could be traces of wear on the hair curls, but then that could be just glare. I think the reverse has wear, though, in the leaf designs. May I revise that to, at worst, AU58-3/4?

Exactly - the rim on the reverse really stood out to me. The slightly darker look around eyebrow. It is a very nice coin.
