At least for circ finds for me it was.

Without going into details, in the span of 6 days I managed to recieve in change at 4 different locations, two 1946 nickels and two 1946 cents!! I thought that was kinda strange since i usually go 1-2 months between wheat cent finds and 2-3 months between Pre-1960 nickels. To top it off....i get all four with the same date!!

That's not all I found. I also got this nice 1958-D nickel as well. I wonder where this has been sitting for 49 years because it's pretty close to uncirculated.

hey just a quick question. the other day while doing a roll search i came across a 1947 nickel but i thought it wasnt a collectible or anything. Was i wrong if not how much would a 1947 no mintmark nickel be worth in ef-40 condition

I don't think it would be worth much if anything over face, but I save all pre 59 nickels and try get enough to roll them up and put them in my collection. Nice finds Mike. Like the 58 nickel. I have one that looks like that, but is toned. It is good pretty toning though. Nice wheats too!

nice finds! that nickel was probaly stolen out of someones collection. and yes, 1959 and older nickels are worth keeping.
