Any guess on final mintage? The reverse proof buffalo was less than 50k. I'm guessing closer to 100k for these.

Ya you could be right !!!@Gold prices + subject JFK your going to have coin collectors + Kennedy fans buying.
I use phone on buying special sets like this and American eagle sets in past.
So far I have got all sets since 2000. Internet jams up to fast no matter what upgrading they have done.

I heard they are only having 500 per day at the show. That won't last long at all... now I'm wondering if I should go or not

Interesting to see many people fretting about no order limit... If I recall correctly the 2009 UHR was minted to order, sold around 115,000 or so and people were crying that they would be bullion in no time... not so much.

Exactly why I'm still considering it.

Curses be on the Mint for trying to create a level playing field and letting whoever wants these have a chance to get them.

Don't they know coin collecting is intended to be a business and not a hobby!

Level playing field? You can take off work and travel to the show to buy some. You can wait online like I did for the HOF coins and try to buy some. Just because there is a limited supply of something doesn't mean it wasn't a level playing field. Let's talk about the price. I think that will keep more people from buying them than anything. Why doesn't the mint make it a level playing field and just give them away?

    Great article, TC.
No one could have said it better than Mr. Golino,
and I agree wholeheartedly with everything he wrote.
    Thanks for the link.

...except it's not. It does not have the double date, and does not state 3/4 gold on the reverse, like the actual one will. This is a pretty bad mock-up really.

Either way, it's a real pretty coin.

  20. More about Kennedy gold coin from US Mint rep on Facebook:

"Order limits at retail sites and other venues may be limited to two units. The household order limit (via website and phone orders) is five units."

In response to question about whether young son can buy at ANA show: "We're still checking on your question about your son. I do not believe there has been an age restriction in the past, but I want to confirm the details about this event."
