i read somewhere that after a lot of years the coins in your whiteman folders get glue residue on them from the book is this true?i dont want to ruin the coins that are in mine Steve
Ive had the experience with the Whitman folders years ago that if the coins are left in there long enough they do get a glue residue on the edge of the coins, so then, when the coins are ever removed from the folder the edges of the coins have a blue sticky ring around them. I never had this happen with the Whitman Deluxe or Classic albums, just the folders. Needless to say, I havent used the folders since then and I dont recommend them, but, this is only my experience.
I think anyone with coins in the old Whitman folders would probably be wise to buy new ones and shift the coins into those.
Yes, it is true of the older folders. My grandfather stored his coins in the folders and when I got the coins they had glue marks on the back of the coin and on some of the coins you can even see the printing from the paper flap on some of the coins. Most of the coins were circulated so it was no big lose in value but it does distract from the coins. The folders have copyright dates from 1940 to 1957 on them.
would this be a good album to keep my wheat cents in i want to no if this one will get a sticky residue on them like the whiteman folders has anyone had any expieriences with this type of folder? http://www.littletoncoin.com/retail...d85256a93005a76c5?EditDocument&AutoFramedder?
