Hi all, I recently started collecting and have acquired some really nice coins from Poland Lithuania Commonwealth mostly 1500s-1700s....(I am Lithuanian-American)....I recently bought a 6 groschen 1702 coin for Leipzig...excellent coin but having trouble finding info on it....there is very little info on Leipzig under Poland that I can find....any info is appreciated.
i don't have any info for you, but i also like coins from this area and time. here's one i have similar to you avatar coin.
For anyone interested I did find the answers....that coin was issued under King Augustus II, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania and Elector of Saxony, where that coin was issued.
6 groszy. Vilna Mint. Ruler: Augustas II as the Polish King and the Grand Duke of Lithuania. Silver. A coins of this type were released at 1706 & 1707 only. My ancestors were a Polish noblemen and many of them lived in Lithuania. Regards. Eugene.
