Proof pres. dollars

    i am thinking about buyin 2 or 3 proof pres. dollar sets when the mint puts them out for sale would that be better than buying unc. rolls? Thanks

    If I had an operating crystal ball, I could see which package would increase in value the fastest and highesst, and answer your question.

    You are obviously thinking about an investment, not purchasing a numismatic object, or the question wouldn't arise.

    From the strictly hobby standpoint the sets are the only reasonable choice because you can actually see the coins, which you can't do when buying paper tubes and accepting on faith the idea that they have some coins inside. :D

    actually i thought about it and im going to but 2 proof sets and two rolls

    I hear there may be a delay in the President dollar proof sets(a month or two) due to problems with the edge lettering in San Fran.

    That would not surprise me. Delays are part of doing business with the mint

    i would rather the mint take the time and produce a quality product than rush them and release an inferior product. still hate waiting though.
