So, my brother has always gave me a hard time about collecting coins. He, is not a bad guy, just doesnt understand collecting anything at all. So last week his kids spent a few days with me and my daughter. I got them all state quarter albums and explained to them how to fill the book. They went nuts looking through change jars trying to fill holes. My brother called yesterday and said his son carries the coin book everywhere he goes, and is constantly asking him for quarters. Next time they come over, Im going to tell them about local coin shows and get them hooked on Mercury dimes.
It's a nice thing you've started them on, but I don't think it's a very good idea that he carries the album around with him. Not all kids are nice, and it's not a good idea to advertise that coins are collected in the house. Chris
Nah, if that were the case I would already have been on the show. Great thing about coins is how little space they take up, even when they number well into the tens of thousands.
I don't think this puts him at risk for a break in...it's a child collecting circulated coins in a folder. Now, it might put him at risk from other kids looking for vending machine change...but that might be it.
