Here she is. The obverse has crazy die cracks, especially around and in the cap area, but it must be a very late or terminal die state, because I can't find it in the Reeded Edge book. Anyone help me with the "GR" number and rarity? Here are the seller's pics:
Well, I found out it's a JR-11, but I cannot find the corresponding GR number? It doesn't seem to be in the book... weird.
I had been at the Baltimore show the last few days and was busy prior to the show, so I have not been on the boards for about a week. This coin looks like a GR-15. Dick Graham is the true guru of RE die marriages and I worked on the book with him.
So Tom, if Heritage has 2 of these in their archives from 2008 listed as JR-11. The Dick Graham book has the GR-15 corresponding with the JR-8. Where in the book can I find the JR-11? Or has it been omitted? Or am I just wrong? Check out the Heritage archives for "1838 JR-11" if you get a chance. Thanks.
Btw, this coin currently resides in a yellow ANACS AU53 holder. Problem free. I think the grader jotted down "63" and it got misinterpreted.
