There were no business strike 3 cent pieces made in 1877. This is a proof only type with a mintage of just 510 pieces total. It just walked into the shop this afternoon.
I like the color on that one! You always seem to have a lot of awesome coins to post. When you say "walking into the shop", do you mean customers bring these in to sell to you? Also you say you're understaffed in your title, does that mean there's job openings? (Of course I'm a few thousand miles away but still...)
Now I told you guys before it's magic coin magnets that do it. They just pull 'em in outta the thin air 'Course Matt claims it's that magic cave they found under his shop. But I don't believe it for a second. I think he just doesn't want anybody to know about those magnets
Yep, I am lucky in my business in the fact that all of the other local "coin shops" in my area just go for the big rips and tend to make low offers on everything. I recently beat one of my competitors by almost $2,600 on a $7,000 deal. I make an honest profit and in the meantime the word gets out that we are the place to go... so all the neat stuff I post comes through my door from customers who bring it in. As for under staffed and overly motivated... I have a brain full of ideas (some of them good actually) and only one of me to make them happen... haha!!
Dang! That's a beauty! Definitely the nicest 3 center I've ever seen. If I owned your shop, I'd hang onto it. Give the customers something to look at and remember every time they come back in.
Haha! Conder you are welcome to come stand outside anytime... but our couch inside is much more comfortable.
