My husband has looks at loose change as they put in safe etc. I have him looking lol. He swaps out anything he may find. The last few days he has brought a few wheats etc.
I always keep a pocket full of change as a cashier so I can swap it out for anything good. Scored a silver quarter last month.
Cool. Keep watching. Every time I check my husband’s change in his car and he has been checking when he can, I’m surprised what is found. Good luck!
Lol! Lol! Y’all still training me. I think I make some still cringe with my terminology. But hey I’m a Cajun gal! Lol!
I will occasionally find a wheat penny or two in my pocket change but nothing like the good old days. Back in the sixties my Mom collected coins and I worked nights at a burger stand. When something came in that I wanted I would put it in a cup next to the register and then buy it when we closed. There were wheat pennies, buffalo nickels, mercury dimes, Kennedy halves, some silver dollars and a few $1 and $5 silver certificate bills. Every night I gave it to my Mom and it all went into her collection.
lol ah yes. My hubby works in retail so he is able to peek and making deposits etc so he swaps it out. I pay for something in cash more now just to get loose change lol. Found a W like that. It’s crazy what comes up in change. At first I was and I am looking through my dad’s and mom’s coins.
Yes today if I ask a cashier if they have something like that they look at me like I’m crazy! I mean surely people know what a half dollar is. Lol. But apparently not lol. I don’t dare ask about a wheat! Lol!
Fascinating to see wheaties with such good definition in pocket change in the year 2023. Someone must have broken out a collection.
Yes that’s what I’m thinking. My husband works in retail so I’m thinking either people are spending it or well I hate to assume that I’ll just say misplaced in the wrong hands. It had to be possibly the same person since some were on same day but again not sure.
There have been a few times in life where change thrown into whatever on arriving home has to be used later when things are not so great. Had to do that a time or two myself in the early days.
I have found some in my dad’s change and still looking through his as well. He had his coin stash. Yes the way todays prices are, you have to do what you have to do.
