Surprisingly for all of the monograms I have, I never managed to pick up one of Emperor Anastasius until quite recently; knowing how common they are, I left this task on the backburner, until I decided to purchase this nice one. His monogrammed bronze nummi are from the pre-coinage reform period of his reign (491-498 AD). Yeah. I couldn't really splurge more money on a better one, so for its price ($22 shipped), it isn't bad, especially thinking about all the worse ones out there. It's fine for now until I'm off the wagon and able to get a better one.
welcome misty, may want to start a new thread on the topic. i haven't cleaned silver, so not sure. VK: that really a pretty nice lookin' one, the details are nice...if a bit off target.
