1857 Flying Eagle Cent

    I bought this coin at a coin shop while I was out of town this past weekend and thought this coin was undervalued. I know it has damage on the reverse but I thought the details were too nice not to buy it.

    What do you think it grades as? What do you think the value of this coin is?

    like the front, do NOT like the back. upgrade when you can. you will so much happier if you do. :blackalien:

    Not a fan of the reverse damage...VF-35/XF-40 obverse I think though.

    It's a small coin in a big picture, so the damage is all we can see. I'm sure in-hand it isn't as noticeable. My main issue is that white blob above the "CE" in Cent, and the carbon spots. Hit it with some Acetone to make sure the verdigris doesn't progress. If it's as nice as it looks it should have some luster.....?

    The damage and the color kill the coin. No clue what someone would pay for it.
