    By the Power of Grayskull I resurrect this thread!

    I just ended up with a passle of the reprints. Passed quick eyeball inspection but when you look for more than a couple seconds, you can see - paper is somewhat translucent, extremely fine graving detail isn't there. In fact, it's not really the black that gives it away, it's the color green printing, really doesn't have anywhere near the detail it should. Hopefully, the seller comes through and does the right thing. Dammit! Cause I really, really like these...

    Very informative, those last notes have the "washed out" appearance where the ink soaked through the modern paper. The originals are just common enough that you can avoid the modern reprints.

    Thanks for giving this a bump, I missed it the first time. I have no doubt that Rick's note is the real deal. It's not translucent like these reprints. Sorry MEC -- I hope your seller makes good on them. Authenticating can be a tough call if you're working with digital images.
