I think this is from the Pakistan region. I have yet to find it in the 2005 World Coin book. My eyes are going buggy looking for these last couple of dozen.
The date is CE 1938, AH 1307. There are supposedly a nickel and copper-nickel version with this date also.
With coins that have more than one calendar system,such as the Middle Eastern & some Asian countries,I quote both the 'AH' & 'AD' dates.I have always hated the terms 'BCE' & 'CE',so me being old-fashioned & religious,I always say 'BC' & 'AD'. Krause has a habit of listing one of the dates,usually 'AH' or 'VS',but not converting it into 'AD' dates & listing them.It would be of benefit to those who cannot yet read the true Arabic numerals.
