I just bought this coin, it is AU details, but i wanted to know what these spot are from, and if i send it in to grading, what will it say in as a disclaimer (cleaned, scratched, damaged, etc.)
It almost looks like dried blood.... I'd be more worried about the authenticity of the coin... I see a few things I don't really like about it... but it could be the pictures.
oh god, that would suck. The seller is a pretty reputable one. I actually got this on ebay on a bid. The seller has 13k feedback. Any way i can check if its real, without ruining the coin? i know about magnets, and weighing it. anything else?
the weakness at 6 on the reverse, the obverse color towards the rims is one often seen on fakes, the general softness of the obverse.
the item wasnt shipped yet. should i let him ship it, and test it with a magnet and weight it? send it to grading? or tell him i think its fake? i won it on a bid for around $100
It's hard to call 100% from the pics given... if you have a return policy I'd get it in hand and try to get some clear pics of it.
As I said I can't write it off from these pics shown. I just see some things I don't like about the coin... It very well could be good.
