I apologize for asking this question over and over, but I'm still not able to tell the difference. The one on the right looks a little different from the other two, especially the 9. I suspect they're all large dates but I'd rather know for sure before I file them with my ordinary pennies. I
A small date has the top of the seven even with the tops of the nine and zero and the zero is more round than oval. The large date has a seven which is lower than the nine and zero with the zero more oval than round.
Instead of using this I prefer to look at what the "9" is pointing at. "7" or "mm"? http://lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1970Ssmalldate.html
I know what the differences are, but it's just hard for me to tell them apart. My eyesight isn't what it used to be. After posting this, I took the cents to my local coin shop and the guy said they were all large dates. He looked at each coin for about 20 seconds so even the experts have to look very closely to tell the difference.
