Picked up this champagne color/toned peace dollar today. Anything special here or can I throw it in with the other common peace dollars? I know the date is super common but the color/tone stood out from the rest I picked up to me. Does the deep scratch in front of her face kill the coin?

    Thanks

Let's put it this way. I've seen more Peace dollars with this type of toning than rainbows. I still like it, though. I have a 28-S with similar toning. I'd put it in a flip if it were mine.

Peace $ tend to tone ugly, so when you find a nice toned one it's a keeper. Not worth grading but I'd keep it.

lovely, original toning. Too bad for that scratch. Would that be considered a bag mark? Like the other person said, I wouldn't get it graded. I think that die crack/scratch or whatever it's called on the obverse is interesting. I've seen it before in-person. It's right near the base of the neck. One time I had that mark on the obverse and it was raised, which makes it some kind of error. I've never heard anyone else talk or write about it though.
