I love PL Morgans like most others, but if I added another set to my collection, I'll never finish the others I started.
I love PL morgans as well, however they command such a high price I can't see spending the money on one. I guess I will just look at others for the time being. I can't see spending twice as much for PL.
I've seen this site before just from surfing the web. blu62vette has the best PL's and DMPL's that I have ever seen. I would die to own a collection like his.
beautiful!! I just started in on morgans and nothing of that caliber as yet (starting with a yearbook) but also doing a box of 20 and have now added a dmpl/pl morgan to the lists of must haves for it
It is a fun site to browse, I don't have all of these coins any more but for sure have a majority of them. Some of the same date/mm/grade coins get sold on occasion. The PL/DMPL bug hit me a few years ago and it was all downhill from there. Thanks for the comments on the site, I enjoy sharing it so other can see DMPL and PL's to compare with. There are some great coins in the set and some average coins in the set. Also I am always happy to bring a few of them along to a show if people ever want to see a few certain coins in hand. I noticed the OP has 1900-O, 01-O, and 02-O in 65PL in his post. I got luck and got these recently, the 1900-O and 1902-O are now 1 of 2 CAC coins for the date, all grades.
From http://www.greatcollections.com/kb/Doily-PCGS-Holders-t186-4.html The Doily holder is one of the most coveted holder/label types of certified coins. It was produced by PCGS for a short time from August 1989 through January 1990. Only a few of these slabs survive today and many believe that the graders were conservative during this time. Today, Doily holders sell for a premium. We will always note OGH (Doily) in the title of the listing. OGH = Old Green Holder.
It is a PCGS label only used for about one month in Dec 1989 if I remember right. They are considered rare and bring a premium. There are not many DMPL and PL coins in this holder. Here is an example.
blue62vette, I too have bookmarked the site awhile ago and look at it every now and then. In fact, I just looked at it the other day drooling over what I wish I had..lol. I have some nice Morgans, and I like them whether PL, DMPL or just a nice grade with a real clean coin in it....and I also love some toned Morgans depending on the toning. I have thought now about getting a few PL or DMPL Morgans when I upgrade my coins to higher grades or add a new one. What impressed me about the vette collection is they weren't all high grade coins, meaning there were 62s, etc in there.
