Hi, I received a $10 bill in the mail today as thanks for agreeing to take part in a survey. Anyways, I don't really collect paper money all that much / I prefer coins but this bill got me to thinking: It's a 2003 $10 bill serial number DG00001X1YB where the X and Y each represent a unique digit (I didn't post the exact number since people that are into wheresgeorge.com get mad if you do that). This particular bill is pretty worn but would it be worth anything if it were in pristine shape? While I'm at it, last summer I was working as a cashier and someone paid me with a 1988 old-style $100 bill with 5 leading zeros and a star. It was almost perfect (I'd guess it was stolen). I didn't have $100 with me so I didn't buy it but any guesses as to what that may have been worth? Thanks for the help.
Catbox_9,a banknote with a very low number (below 1000) is always worth a premium over a normal note.A note that has both a very low number & a star can command a huge price, but like everything else in numismatics & notaphily, the price is measured based on a supply & demand factor. If more people want examples of a particular numismatic or notaphilic item, then the price can go through the roof.If few people want it,the price could end up going through the floor. Aidan.
