I am having trouble identifying this coin. It appears to be Japanese, and has an obverse similar to KM65 (the Arabic numeral 5, which seems odd on a Japanese coin but was apparently used from 1945 on). Any idea what this is? https://www.flickr.com/photos/georgemo/14190472310/sizes/k/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/georgemo/14375583772/sizes/k/
It is a 5 fen (五分) aluminum coin issued in 1941 (康德八年) by the Japanese "puppet state" located in northeast China known as Manchukuo. A similar coin may be seen at this Chinese website. Gary
Thanks! That was driving me crazy, because I was 99% certain it was Japanese from that era. Didn't even occur to me to check the China section of my Krause.
