2X2 Art (fun artwork on your 2X2 to make your coins pop).

I got this idea from a magazine ad that had a egg behind jail bars. so I cut out the jails bars including the jail bars shadows and reduced to my 2X2 holder then had it photo copied to an over head clear plastic transparency then used a craft plastic rivet thingy to keep it in place (to be able to move the transparency out of the way for better coin viewing. this coin is from Iraq . I think if I remember correctly ? when Saddam Hussein was caught or put to death this coin went for $90.00 on Ebay . now it ranges from $20-40 depending what grade it is. mine is quite nice for the grade. just for fun. :nice-smile: enjoy:

I will post my Bolivia "pacman" 2 coins when I get home from work tonight @1:30am. I used pacman because the lettering on the coins look like pacman lettering on the coins themselves.

 

That's really neat! Pretty creative! They need to make some like that lol.

 

ok I took some pics tonight but the lighting sucked. you will get the general idea of the pacman lettering on these 2 Bolivia coins looks like a pacman font of which gave me this idea to do these like this. I copied the pacman and colored ghosts off of my old T-shirt and transfered them to a very small grid paper and then hand colored them all. turned out very cool I think. you judge them. acing:

been thinking of doing more 2X2 art on the coins with hands that has the "year of peace" with the hand sigh for peace and the universal peace sign and 60's artwork. hmmmm

 

If you are going to print a label for you 2x2, why not also re-print all the stuff you have written by hand? Might look a bit cleaner.

umm no that's when I get home from work 1:20 am I work 4pm-1am at walmart receiving/ICS

thanks. I will probably do those next 2X2's Thursday my next day off. The project I am also in the works is a morgan dollar pop art acrylic painting to raise money for CoinTalk. as a thank you on top of my yearly subscription. my step by step pics of the progress to end result. the morgan dollar will be about 7-9 inches in diameter size in black with neon yellow highlights with a ultramarine blue/black backround to make it pop. out line this Thursday hopefully... no promises but will be working on it for sure.

 

I will enlarge this coin to about 9 inch wide to trace the details for the black paint:

where it is silver/white I will use bright neon yellow acrylic paint

That's too bad, I was hoping to see an update on the Morgan Dollar project.

Once you make the effort to mask the details you can do some interesting mashups.
