$1000 1934 bill what is it worth an the grade

once when i was about 8 years old i went into a bank and asked for half dollars. the teller told me she didnt have any, but she had a $500 bill. i asked to see it, and it was a gold certificate! i only had $100 on me and had to have my parents there to withdraw from my account. i asked the teller if she could hold on to it while i went and got my parents, but she said she couldnt promise anything and as i was leaving another bank employee bought it from her .

i took half dollars and $2 bills to school and sold them for double face value...
