Sold a coin on ebay. Posted it in European ebay for the coin was European and thought it would sell better, and indeed it did. Now I received payment but it's in Euros not US Dollars. I thought Paypal would automatically convert funds but it seems it didn't? What do I do with Euros I don't need those
There is an large amount of help here for someone that doesn't want to take the time or expend the energy to find the info himself.
I think that's a little unfair. Sometimes it may take me a couple of hours to research something that a member of this forum knows off the top of his head in no time flat. Doesn't hurt to ask.
True, but PayPal has a search window. How long does it take to type "convert currency"? I don't mind helping out, but not when someone has made absolutely no effort to help themselves before asking for our help.
Fair point, but I often find value in speaking with someone who as done it before and knows from experience how it works vs. reading a bunch of ebay/paypal policies and procedures. I guess each question you ask on this forum should be answered "Go Google it, the answer is out there somewhere".
Sorry I was in the middle of something, had no time to google it, chose to ask here instead. Google is a great tool indeed, even though sometimes you may find conflicting answers to same question. Chose to post here for exactly the reason Hotpocket mentioned plus the time constraint. Plus it's a good thing to know here as some members may have this problem in the future. I have many times spent 30+ minutes on Google trying to help people here with their id's or other things, so it's not that I can't find my own answer, I was busy with something. Thanks!
That's what works for you though. Each and every one of us are different and learn and think differently. What fun would the site be if a bunch of Rickmp's were running around an all thought and acted just like you? It would make the point of these forums very useless and nothing new ever occur. Never mind the fact that now other people know how to go and convert currency. I'm not even participating in this thread other than this post and it was very informative for me. Now I don't have to go look it up if I ever happen across this situation, I've already read it and know how to utilize PayPal Misty's step-by-step method to converting currency. That's why these questions are important to be asked and to be answered.
Maybe I was a little too harsh, but there are some that ask before searching all the time. Seeing so many questions that are so easily answered with a simple search get on my nerves sometimes.
Question: What happens if you receive a Paypal payment in foreign currency? Answer: Paypal offers 3 options: 1) You may deny payment 2) You may accept payment in foreign currency and have a balance for each currency 3) Accept payment and convert it to US Dollars Thanks again!
Just transfer it from PayPal back to your bank account. When it lands there it will be in US Dollars.
