1.75 cents each or $1.75 each? Random dates? 1.75 cents is a better than fair deal. $1.75 is theft. Provided they are not better dates or condition.
The average rate around here is around a buck to buck and a quarter if they allow cherrypicking. If you buy a roll you should get a touch lower than a buck each. So, if this is a tray of IHC's I don't have much of an issue with $1.75 if you have the opportunity to cherry pick out some better condition/better dates. I wouldn't be buying vg 1904's at that price though.
Are we talking random dates of random junk? If so, then yes... this price is high. However, if all are common yet nicely detailed original circs, perhaps set aside as an affordable option for collectors or novelty buyers, the price very well may be reasonable. I think this is an instance where the more information you provide, the better the answer you're likely to receive.
Well I bought a few of them simply because I don't have any. I was able to choose the ones I liked. Thanks for the help though everyone.
I dont know. Haven't seen them in any coin stores around me until today. I would like to get more though. Saw some bags of wheat pennies at another store that were outrageously priced. I definitely wouldn't spend money on circulated wheat pennies. Find plenty of them in penny rolls.
