Need ID of this Islamic Ancient

    S M O.jpg S M R.jpg Hello. I acquired this silver ancient which weighs just 2.9 g. having a dimension of 2.4 cm. Could you assist to identify it in matter of date, era, ruler etc.. Thanks..

    Thanks SY. I tend to believe that this coin is probably from the Fatimid era in Egypt. That was around one thousand years ago. In fact I can read Al Imam, also Al Aadel (meaning in Arabic the equitable or fair ). Then maybe Al Mustanser Billah who was the Islamic Fatimid Shiite Caliph at that period. Are there any Fatimid signs ( flowers ) on this coin?

    Ayyubid, Al-Adil Abu Bakr II, AH645-637, Dimashq (Damascus mint, no mint on coin).

    Great. THC is right. By the way, Al Adel the second was the nephew of famous Saladin who ended the Fatimid Caliphate. Al Adel was known for being corrupted and running after pleasure and uncontrolled expenditure. He was jailed and later killed.
