I would like to say hi to everyone in this forum and here is a piece of the Australia 1966 Queen elizabeth II 50 cents silver coin which is in brilliant uncirculated condition. The coin is with natural original shade which has no toning,no black spots and no scatches on both sides surface. The piece is with shining luster surface and the most beautiful silver coin from my personal coin collection to be honest with you.I would think the coin which has tremendous high grade with high rating number because of the shining luster shade. The opinion require. Please check it out on the scans below and let me know what you think there.Thank you

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

It looks to have quite a few nicks and dings on the obverse, and would probably grade MS63 or so.

As a longtime Australian decimal collector, you have a nice single year variety, .800 fine silver and round. A nice keeper. Value is around bullion value +$5. No 50-cent pieces were minted in Australia again until 1969 when they became 12-sided and copper-nickel.

You are certainly right about it for the obverse side is not as good as the reverse side condition and it is about the shining shade for getting higher grade there.

    "Shining shade" = Luster

Unfortunately, "nicks & dings" will take precedence over luster all the time, and the reverse, though clean-looking, will rarely affect the grade in a positive way. Most often, it will detract from the grade of a nice-looking obverse.

I would agree with this onecenter collector. he knows what these coins go for in this grade.

The obverse side is always more important than on the reverse side for the grade to be honest with you and the grade will be higher if obverse side position looks better and cleaner for sure than on the reverse side position by grading service.

This coin is hard to find this nice.

It's not too tough in Unc but luster is usually subdued and even mint set coins tend to be marked.

I don't know what to grade it but it's in the top 5% or so.

You are definely so right about the condition because I have seen few hundreds similar pieces selling on ebay currently but none of them is with the same shining luster original natural for the shade on the surface similar to this piece there.

I would think for the natural original shade with shining luster surface is beautiful.
