US Postal Service max insurance is $500. Sure, I can use Registered Mail and go up to $25,000, but then I have to go all the way down to the Post Office and wait around.

I'm looking for a solution where I can ship insured (more than $500) and do everything at home from my computer desktop.

    A friend recommended http://www.u-pic.com/ .

Does any one have any experience with third-party postal insurance ? Has anyone tried endicia ? Anyone tried u-pic ?

    Thanks for any input !

Before using a third party insurer, I would check them out by finding out what state(s) they are licensed in, and how they are rated by A.M. Best, the insurance industry's primary financial rating service.

I would also want to know how their claim procedures work.
