1869 Shield Nickel, listed as 5-8 known in my cherry pickers guide... is it really that rare?

Rare is certainly a possibility but for something that is "rare" to have value, more than two people must want it.

Often times, the market on some really cool varieties is very, very thin.

I agree sometimes the only thing more rare than the coin, is the collector.

I wasn't trying to find out about value.... I was trying to determine if its really that rare.

I've only seen this one, but to be honest I haven't really looked for this variety at shows.
