I have a question. I have some older coins that have a redder color to them and a lot that are brown. Should I be setting the pennies that look newer aside even if they aren't perfect? Does it even matter?
I don't know if it should matter to you, but cents are graded by color, also. Brown, red/brown and red, with red being the most desirable.
I really like the old copper pennies. I like how they have the larger rim and bubbly date. I can immediately tell the difference without looking at the date.
Wow, at first I thought that was your skin peeling. Then I realized you are wearing gloves. Anyway, I am of the opinion that the wear on the coin is more important than color. Although red is desired more than brown by most, I think you might want to consider the coin's condition first when deciding whether to keep it or not.
