Mr. 19yds. I can understand you.

I just need go a little further on why it's no big deal to me.

On the other hand. Do most of you feel making more than your buy price is fair?

Or, do you think the seller was stupid and sold it for low $$$ and that's their loss.
Did you use your experience to steal the deal and that's why you feel the way you do?

I know more than a few of you this situation happen. Bet the seller didn't get a refund when you did either.

There are many risks in auctions and I take everything into account. I can't worry why this person shipped my item the way he did. Everyone is different in our world.

So, I am saying your new value vs. the sellers couple of shipping $$ equals out in the end in most auctions.
    Doesn't it?

Exactly, that's how I felt when I first read this thread. Everything must be considered in a auction from start to finish. My response in the last thread is just nonsense Goobley Gosh, as most would say, what is he talking about. Is Sliderguy on drugs. No, I am not. JMHO. Good day.

19Lyds, I'm late to the thread, but I agree with you. I always look at the shipping cost before bidding and factor it in to my bid. If someone is going to have $5+ for shipping, I EXPECT it to be well packaged. In the case you outlined, I'd be miffed that there was no protection for the coin while being charged $5+ for shipping.

I recently bought "Cap Bust Fever" off eBay. It's a hard book to find. The seller had $15 for shipping. I thought it was too high, but, I factored it in with my winning price and I still made out. Had the book come poorly protected, I would not have been happy.

It was one of those, Oh Shiza moments. I bid on the book and didn't carefully look at the shipping. I glanced at it and thought it was $5. I don't know if I'd say I made a profit. The book was $60 for a second edition. It's in great shape. Add the shipping and I'm at $75. It's tough enough to find the book, but I thought $75 was a good price. BTW, the title is actually "Bust Half Fever". My bad.

Good reason to have multiple accounts. Have an account for your high end stuff and never list lessor items with it to eliminate the possibility of neg FB by someone with no skin in the game.

Use small burner accounts for lessor items.
