1909 S Wheat penny with extra "E" printed near "GOD"?

    Maybe I am a bit crazy but doesn't the "In GOD WE TRUST" look like there in an extraneous "E" stamped partially under the "D" in GOD?

    Has anyone ever seen this? Does it affect value? Or am I just hallucinating?

    It could be damage or perhaps lamination (a better photo may help, at least with my eyes), but it is most certainly just some sort of anomaly and not a "stamping" error.

    The damage to the rim suggests that it is part of that damage.

    I agree with cmp9ball. It looks like the damage extends down to the "D". Possibly a lamination. Not an extra "E".
