Of course the total weight is way off due to the 1982 composition change. :p

I was quite surprised with how small one billion stacked pennies actually is.

This basically means... if I could get hold of the 100,000,000,000 1909-82 cents and store the 3000 tons of the stuff on some field, melt it (illegally albeit, but what venture is not fraught with risks)... I'm looking at a profit of $6.773 million dollars!! And to think I'm looking for a desk job...

I only clicked on the 1,000 pennies (cents) and it was stated they were the Copper Plated Zinc only coins. This would be the post 82 era coins. However, no one is taking into account wear. I've seen some 1990 cents worn to almost nothingness. I have tried using the stack system for a fast count of cents and usually never get it right due to wear. I've already put 53 and 54 cents in those plastic rolls made for 50.

    Another surprisingly small amount....

The total amount of platinum ever isolated to date on earth would fit into a cube about 35 feet on each side. Each year a 6 foot 9 inch cube is added to it....
