I'd appreciate anyone's opinion on the 1963 Lincoln Cent with a rather unique anomaly. The obverse has the obvious 3 'zeros' but there also seems to be a gouge right around ol' Abe's mouth. The reverse shows damage from the top of the 'T' and up the right side of the monument. I had a hell of a time getting even a half decent pic of this thing. Strikethrough or some schmo with a really powerful typewriter?

He's smoking a pipe...You can just barely make out the pipe hanging from his mouth underneath the smoke circles. It's a counterstamp.

No problem. :) You see them from time to time. I haven't run across that particular one but I've seen pictures of it.

Someone had nothing better to do. The damage on the reverse was caused when the circles and pipe were hammered into the obverse.

Maybe you should throw it in a tobacco tin so he can keep Prince Albert company.
