Picked this up and was looking for any information available. It's a 12 coin zodiac set. They are approximately 34mm and 12.1 grams in size and appear to be cupronickel in composition. Thanks for taking a look Ben

Clinker,I have got the Somaliland Zodiac set.It is a set of steel 2006 10 Shilling coins quite a bit bigger than a Quarter,but smaller than a $1/2.They're priced at US$1.25 each in Unc. in the 21st Century Krause catalogue (which has a red cover). They're nice coins that cost me US$12 from Digger from Dover (New Hampshire,that is!),who has an eBay store. Somaliland coins are of interest to me,as Somaliland should have had its independence recognised & admitted into the British Commonwealth back in 1991,when they had the sense to secede from Somalia. I dunno Bone, plated sterling maybe. A half dollar of .900 silver is 12.5 grams and 30.6mm. You have 34mm and 12.1 grams and sterling is .925
Ben,the markings should be located on the edges of these medals.You should run a glass along the edges to look for them. Aidan.

Ben - nice find. I occasionally see items like this in antique shops but normally pass them up because I can't figure out if they are silver or not. I need a portable sterling silver detector.
I'm still not completely sure, except the auctions and Franklin Mint claim it is, and no negative FB was left by the buyer. Again, I bought it cause it was neat not cause it was silver. I'm (was) thinking about using them for targets, LOL...
