Guess the Grade 1885-S Morgan

I would grade it a 62 but I suspect that PCGS gave it a 63.

 

Yeah, probably 63-ish.

 

The color is throwing me off, but there appears to be a bit of acne regarding Libertys' cheek area. Reverse looks cleaner. I'd go with '63 if I had to hazard a guess.........

 

What lighting would you recommend to take a picture? Every time I take one with the light I use the coin gets that gold color

 

What type of bulb are you using to illuminate the subject?

 

I believe that it is a 40W halogen

 

It really good for grading coins but not good for taking pictures

 

I would say MS63, but knowing PCGS, they probably gave it a 64.

Have you tried adjusting your white balance?

The coin was graded MS63+ by PCGS

 

I thought it might be, but stuck with MS63. It's borderline, from MS64 though. Nice coin!

 

I think I might send it to CAC. I saw on another thread that CAC doesnt look at the "+" when giving stickers and they just look at the numerical grade so it would have a really good chance of getting a green bean..!
